Do Most Cannabis Beverages Suck? This Cocktail Expert Thinks So.

Warren Bobrow is a world-renowned mixologist, chef, and author known as the Cocktail Whisperer. He spent years of his life traveling the world as a top liquor ambassador.

But a few years ago, he stopped drinking entirely and turned his focus on cannabis.

“I had to figure out what I was going to be when I grew up. And that pushed me into my first love, which was, since I was 12 years old, cannabis,” Bobrow says.

As a journalist, he has written extensively about cannabis. His latest book is Cannabis Cocktails, Mocktails & Tonics: The Art of Spirited Drinks and Buzz-Worthy Libations.

Now Bobrow is jumping into the brand side of the business. His new offering is Klaus, a THC-infused beverage that he calls “the finest terpene forward craft cannabis cocktail in the world.”

The company is named after a German drinking gnome from the 1850s that came into his possession several years ago and is a talisman of sorts.

Bobrow’s concoctions are simple. He has sourced only the finest ingredients, like Picketts ginger syrup, fruit extracts from France, and 10 mg of terpene-forward cannabis per can.

On this week’s episode of the Green Entrepreneur Podcast, he talks about why he got into cannabis-infused beverages after years of drinking spirits, his background as the grandson of the guy who invented Geritol, how Klaus is different than other beverages (many of which he believes are “stuck in the 1980s”), and what he sees as the future of the cannabis-infused beverage business.
